…promises to develop capacity and skill-set if elected
The front line aspirant for the house of representatives, Hon. Samuel Ekpeyong has promised to develop human capacity and skills-set in Ibeno if elected as a federal house member representing Eket federal constituency in 2023.
Ekpeyong stated this when he consulted the Ibeno chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP and statutory delegates, Wednesday 9th March, 2022 at the PDP chapter office, Upenekang, Ibeno LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
Setting the tone, the board member averred that, in his individual capacity, he and his wife had empowered many Ibeno indigenes, facilitated employments for the people as well as contributed their quota to the development of the community and that, if elected as the federal house member, he will do even more and develop capacity.
“If I had ever done well for the people before in any opportunity given to me to serve, if I had empowered the people and contributed my quota to the development of this community, I’m asking you today to use my good works and antecedents in the past; I’m also praying that you remember what I and my wife had done for the people and this community in the past and send me to go and represent you in the house of representatives and I will not disappoint you. I promise you today that, if by God’s grace I’m elected as the federal house member, I will develop capacity, skill-set, and foster peace among Eket, Onna, Esit Eket, and Ibeno. We are all intertwined with one another and as such, we must live in peace “Ekpeyong said.
In his remarks, the chairman of Ibeno LGA, High Chief Mkpah appealed to Ibeno delegates to support their own being that it’s the first time an Ibeno man will go for federal house, assuring that, they will choose the very best among the aspirants.
“This is the first time an Ibeno person will go for federal house of representatives. So, I appeal to you to key behind our own and support him to win. Samuel Ekpeyong is a good product. We can’t send a mediocre to go and represent us. So we will sit down and look for the very best to go and represent us in the federal house of representatives” the council boss assured.
In their separate remarks, the PDP Chapter Chairman of Ibeno, Hon. Emma Ibok Ibeno and the Chapter Woman Leader, Mrs. Naomi Peter commended Ekpeyong Thomas for the bold step and assured him of transparency and level playing ground to ensure, nobody is cheated or sidelined.
