….promises to maintain peace, builds human capacity
A leading aspirant in the race for Eket Federal Constituency seat who is also a Board Member, Akwa Ibom State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Samuel Ekpenyong, today, March 16th, 2022, consulted the Onna Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Statutory Delegates on his aspiration to represent Eket, Esit Eket, Ibeno and Onna Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
Addressing Chapter Officers of PDP and Statutory Delegates at the party Secretariat located along Eket-Ikot Abasi Road, Onna, Hon. Ekpenyong said, he has existing relationship with Onna people and have been supporting their causes from time immemorial, and will continue to do same without hesitation.
He disclosed that when there was resistance by some folks to deny His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel entrance into Ibeno local government area, he stepped in and there was unfettered access by the governor into the local government area, which transmitted to electoral victory.
He further stated that when he won a contract ExxonMobil Corporation, he sent some people for Basic Offshore Safety Induction Emergency Training (BOSIET) worth N450,000 each and eight of the beneficiaries were from Onna local government, promising to train more people for job opportunities that will spring up in the Federal Constituency in no distant.
Ekpenyong said his mission to the Federal House is to better the lots of his constituents, develop human capacity and ensure that there is enduring peace among the four local government areas.
The former ExxonMobil employee emphasized that despite little hitches here and there in the area, with him as representative of the people, all contending issues will be amicably resolved. He therefore tasked delegates to support him based on his previous achievements, saying his capacity to give the people effective representation is not questionable.*
Responding, the Chapter Chairman of PDP, Barr. Ubong Adiakpan, thanked Hon. Ekpenyong and his entourage for their visit to consult the party delegates in Onna local government area. He noted that Hon. Ekpenyong is not new to Onna people, as such Ibeno and Onna cannot do without each other.
“We cannot do without each other. We really need each other. That love will continue to flow. The delegates know you, and they know your pedigree. We will look at you as Sam Ekpenyong that we know,” Adiakpan said.
The Onna party boss disclosed that there are 139 delegates in Onna including governor Udom Emmanuel who is the leader of the party, urging the House of Representatives hopeful to extend his consultation to the governor.
While praying for history to remember Ekpenyong for his good deeds, he added that, God will choose for Eket Federal Constituency the best so that the people will continue to live together in peace and be happy.
