ESIT EKET COUNCIL BOSS, RT HON ENG INIOBONG ROBSON DROPS BOMBSHELL
…… berates govt of playing hide and seek game on Akoiyak matter

Truth is hard, propaganda is cheap. These days, a sling of truth, still can make Goliath fall. It can be difficult to speak truth to power. Circumstances, however, have made doing so increasingly necessary.
To say nothing is saying something. You must denounce things you are against or one might believe that you support things you really do not.
Being a prophet in the wilderness speaking truth to power typically leads to poverty and punishment. It is far easier to follow the lucrative trade winds of popular opinion but withheld honesty results in forgotten words.
The fair skinned Esit Eket Council boss who also doubles as the ALGON boss is never always afraid to raise his voice for honesty, truth and compassion against injustice, lying and greed. If people all over the Ekid nation would follow suit in this crusade, it would change the ways and manners , they are always treated with disdain, by the powers that be.
Etebe, as he is fondly called by his teeming fans and supporters was the cynosure of all eyes yesterday at the press conference organized by a foremost socio – cultural organization in Ekid nation, Ekid Peoples Union, ably led by Dr Samuel Udonsak.
The fearless and audacious man of the people stole the show when he stated in very clear terms , without mincing words, that both the military and civilian governments are the root cause of the lingering crisis between Ekid and their next door neighbours, Ibeno , by refusing to make an official pronouncement on the real owners of Stubbs Creek Forest popularly referred to as Akoiyak.
The council helmsman maintained that if government had taken the bull by the horn, in doing the right thing at the right time, when it mattered most, they wouldn’t have found themselves in this present precarious situation.
According to him, it is high time, the powers that be, came out clean in this sensitive issue, to avoid aggrieved citizenry , taking laws into their hands, as no true son of his father will sit down, fold his arms, and see his father’s inheritance being forcefully taken away from him, without blinking an eyelid.
He also carpeted some of his kinsmen using the Akoiyak issue as a campaign tool, in order to score cheap political point and also gain undue advantage over other candidates .
” Ekid sons were in the lower house of the National Assembly before and nothing was done in the struggle to get back the land of our forebears, Akoiyak. They came, they saw, and if they eventually conquered is indeed a story for another day and also in the lap of the gods to decide. It is therefore laughable and a great insult on our sensibilities for candidates to now use this vexed issue as a manifesto to play to the gallery” He querried.
The no nonsense Executive Chairman of Esit Eket also used the occasion to read riot act on intending investors who want to do business on the Akoiyak land , to please come and discuss with Ekid Elders formally as genuine landlords.
In the words of Mahatma Ghandi, truth never damages a cause that is just. To announce that there must be no constructive criticism of the powers that be, or that we are to stand by the government of the day, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the masses of Ekid nation.
The struggle continues
