Today, Esit Eket local government area in Akwa Ibom State celebrated Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration grand finale was brought to an end.
The Armed Forces celebration started with the thanksgiving service at the Christ Embassy, Akpautong in Esit Eket local government area where some great and industrious sons and daughters of Esit Eket were decorated with Armed Forces Emblems. Today 15th January, 2020, the celebrations were brought to an end with series of activities including parade by the retired officers, laying of the wreaths in honor of the fallen heroes, presentation of adresses by the executive chairman of Esit Eket, Hon. Iniobong Robson and the Commander Officer of Esit Eket respectively.
As it’s historically understood, the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration is a day set aside by the Nigerian government to celebrate as well as honor those dead armed officers who died protecting Nigeria, lives and properties. These fallen heroes who lived their lives fighting for the good course of Nigeria are the reason of today’s celebration.
In his short speech, the executive chairman of Esit Eket, Hon. Iniobong Robson thanked the retired officers from Esit Eket for keeping the fly of our heroes past flying and promised to improve their lives.
The Armed Forces Celebration Day was held at the Cenotaph, opposite Esit Eket local government secretariat and was well attended by dignitaries from Esit Eket.
