Without mincing words, Gov. Emmanuel has unbeatable leadership record within and outside Nigeria. He has fulfilled almost all his promises in his first and second tenures. The ones remaining will be completed in line with his completion agenda.
It is sheer foolishness for one to think that it is only in Akwa Ibom that people are unemployed. It is mental blindness that made an individual to assume that people are only hungry in Akwa Ibom. Worst of it all, it is an hydra-headed stupidity to think that Akwa Ibom state government should provide employment to everyone.
Unemployment, rape, hardship and senseless killings have become burning issues all over Nigeria. On daily basis, the national tabloids decorate their front pages with heartbreaking headlines bothering on insecurity and murder. From the North East to the South south, the middle belt to the West, the story had been the same.
It is therefore very appalling to attempt to cast aspersion on Akwa Ibom state chief executive, blaming him for the murder of Iniobong Umoren and other anomalies witnessed of late.
To the best of our knowledge, Akwa Ibom citizens can attest to the fact that Gov. Udom Emmanuel has excellently managed the state economy despite the global economic crises occasioned by the recession, dreaded coronavirus and other economic indices.
Industries have been established and Akwa Ibom indigenes are gainfully employed. Not quite long, the state government opened a window to employ teachers, and the recruitment process is ongoing, 3000 youths are currently undergoing training in ICT, Agriculture, Oil and Gas and Sme.
Truth is, Akwa Ibom state government cannot employ everybody, not even the US government can do that.
No one should ever think that such impossibility can be made possible, not even in the UK. No leader has ever achieved such feat. However, Governor Emmanuel, in his determination to reduce unemployment has brought so many opportunities to Akwa Ibom citizens.
People should avoid making statements that can potentially instigate violence. Baseless arguments decorated with mischief and politically motivated press statement should be avoided.
No one is happy about what is happening, and now is not the time to apportion blames.
The liberation of our dear state and indeed Nigeria demands our collective effort.
We must join hands with the government of the day and fight insecurity, rape and joblessness through our creativity. This should be our collective fight.
Indeed, Governor Emmanuel will be remembered for so many things. A true Akwa Ibom son recently penciled this: He(Gov. Emmanuel) will be remembered for breathtaking initiatives;
For helping us to see the nexus between infrastructural development and economic growth; for the many interconnecting roads and bridges; for the investment in healthcare, both in the physical infrastructure and human capital development and for playing national politics and getting the deep seaport project on course.
