Isyaka Laminu Badamasi congratulates Governor Bala Mohammed> For his Victory At Supreme Court

Yesterday’s supreme court judgement over the Bauchi state gubernatorial election case have brought the end of the most complex political tussles in the state since the last general elections. The judgement also brought an end to the wishful believe and thinking by many APC supporters that former Governor MA Abubakar’s defeat was marred by irregularities of election malpractices.

Now that MA is no longer coming and Governor Bala Mohammed remain the duly elected governor, our expectations, hope and prayers are that, the APC faithfuls, especially the former governor’s supporters will now join hands with his excellency for the development of our dear state.

For this,I am using this medium to congratulate his excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed, his deputy Sen Baba Tela the executive council members and the numerous political appointees for this victory and i hope they will now tight up their belts for the tasks ahead.

Through out this trying moment, youths from all the political divides in the state have spent the larger part of their time debating over the outcome of this judicial procedure, right from the inconclusive, the Tafawa Balewa election result saga, elections petition tribunal, court of appeal the supreme court,on many occasions, cyberspace fighting occurred, which includes names calling, character assassinations, intimidation etc, all these is to express their solidarity and support to their different political interests.

Now that the judgement of the gubernatorial election of Bauchi State is over and in favor of the Peoples Democratic Party the PDP, what is left for Governor Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir is focusing on governance and deliverance of the dividends of democracy. Free from judicial distraction(s), his Excellency should not hesitate to execute projects that will ameliorate the lives of the good people of Bauchi State. This will not be achieved without bringing technocrats and bright minds together with records of credibility.

It has become imperative for Governor Abdulkadir to also consider shopping youths that are known to be having expertise skills, competency and patriotism in his cabinet. This is considering the fact that youths have immensely contributed in bringing his government, therefore, this is a call to his Excellency to consider the bright minds among them, so as to shame the opposition parties, who are now mocking and labeling them ‘used and dumped’. In fact, some portions of these youths, who sacrificed their time and energy for a better Bauchi in the last general elections, were maltreated, harassed and even disengaged from their service at the state civil service. Their offense was nothing but a constructive criticism against the previous APC-led administration and association with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Also, it will be of utmost importance for the governor to take a decisive action against drug abuse among young people – a menace that has led to a situation that these young people, who are supposed to be in class receiving educational instruction for a bright future, have, unfortunately, become a set of irresponsible people. It’s, therefore, imperative to collaborate with the NDLEA, and also establish a standard “rehabilitation centre” in order to help these youth for their future to be good. Moreover, bringing hard drugs into the state should be totally intercepted by making the culprits face the full wrath of the law.

Once again congratulations Governor Bala Mohammed.
