ONE KILLED DURING A KIDNAPPING ATTEMPT IN JALINGO

In an attempt to kidnap Dr. Dio-Jen Mike, the Provost of Taraba State College of Education, Zing, the gatekeeper of the provost has been killed at the Green Beach area of Kona, Jalingo on Friday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the kidnappers entered the provost’s residence in a massive number and open fire furiously at the gate of the man and forced themselves in.

They were greeted back with stiff resistance by the security guards of the provost, and this led to the dead of the gatekeeper. The gunmen escaped after killing the man through a river close to the house.

The body of the gatekeeper, Mr Shawulu Yeshi has been embalmed at the mortuary, Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo.

The PPRO of the state confirmed the case, stating that the police is on top of the case and that they will do their best to curb the issue of crime in Taraba State.
