RECORD BREAKING MATILDA: Eket Council Chairman Promises University Scholarship from Council

The Council Chairman of Eket Local Government, Mr. Akaniyene Tommey yesterday played host to Miss Matilda Wills, a native of Usung Inyang Village in Eket Local Government after she scored an eye popping 380 from a possible 400 at the recent post UTME.

Receiving Matilda, the Council Chairman praised her for making her parents and the Local Government proud with such feat as it goes ahead to show that the future is indeed bright and promising.

Speaking further, the Chairman, Akaniyene Tommey confirmed that his administration will handle the first year of her university education whenever her admission process is completed and further rewarded her with a cash token of one hundred thousand Naira and also encouraged her to always aim for the top because with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible.

In a word of gratitude, the Parents of Matilda, Dr. Emem and Mrs. Etokikpa Wills thanked the Eket Chairman for receiving their daughter and also for the words of encouragement as well as the scholarship adding that Matilda has put smiles on their faces and also made the Local Government proud due to her academic exploits.

Miss Matilda, while receiving her cash reward, thanked the Local Government Chairman for the honor done on her and promised to fly the flag of the Local Government high in her academic pursuits as she seeks for admission to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
