The Akwa Ibom State government has on 22nd February, 2020 sacked Mr. Ime Akpabio, the Principal of the Community Secondary School, Ikot Mbong in Onna local government area, Akwa Ibom State.

The statement, duly signed by the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board, Mr.Umana S. Umana was released through the Special Assistant to the governor on New Media.

According to the statement, the Principal was dropped due to his gross negligence of duty as the chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board was on an unscheduled visit to the school and he was shocked to find that the principal could neither give any
reasonable explanation to several administrative lapses found in his school nor comport himself as a school administrator.

Mr. Umana said, the state government cannot harbour personnel who exhibit incompetence despite several cautions to avoid a ruin of the educational system which is very critical for the growth of any society.

The Board Chairman charged teachers to justify their presence in school by
