Umo Eno Certificate Forgery Suit: Akan Okon Is Healthy, Sound, And Fit

Akwa Ibom people woke up on Saturday, 30, July 2022, to read in awe an inaccurate and misleading publication posted on the official Facebook page of Mr. Anietie Usen, Head, National Media of the Maintain Peace Movement (MPM) alluding that the extended adjournment in the certificate forgery suit between Akan Okon vs Umo Eno was to allow Mr. Akan Okon undertake a medical trip abroad. This is factually incorrect.

Mr. Akan Okon’s lead counsel, Mr. Uche Awa (SAN) who was not present in Court on the 29th of July 2022, had pleaded through his representative in Court that he needed to take out time within August to go for a medical check-up.

To now attribute the Counsel’s need for medical attention to Mr. Akan Okon is a misrepresentation of fact with dubious intention crafted by the MPM Media Head to serve whatever purpose for a glint of hope for their principal.

Akwa Ibom people will not be carried away by some soliloquizing media propagandists. However, to a handful of people who may be misled by the dubious publication, Mr. Akan Okon, by the grace of God, is in very good health. He is fit, sound, and healthful; ready to serve the Akwa Ibom people from 2023.

The adjournment of the case to August 29th, 2022, was the collective agreement by all parties.

Our teeming supporters and other well-meaning members of the public should discountenance the malicious and desperate post by the MPM and remain steadfast because justice is nearer now than we first envisaged.
