Uyo Senatorial District Media Practitioners Forum (USDMF) has declared its total support for the newly inaugurated political movement in the state known as Maintain Peace Movement as well as passed a vote of confidence on Governor Udom Emmanuel for his leadership feats.

The Uyo media practitioners stated this and officially made their position known during a Press Briefing today, 5th August 2021, in Uyo.

Briefing newsmen, the chairman of the forum, Deacon Ofonimeh Isong stated: “The USDMPF wholly identifies with and celebrates the remarkable superior performance of Governor Emmanuel and the milestone achievements that he has recorded in the Aviation industry, sports, education, health, infrastructural expansion, human capacity building, flood and erosion management and control, women and youth development, power sector revolution and the gains of massive industrialization witnessed in the last six years. The recent Flyover at Ikot Oku Ikono, the new Airbuses in Ibom Air Fleet, the completion of the Dakkada Towers, and fencing of public schools in the state, are among the reasons we commend the leadership of the Governor.

“Suffice it to say that the USDMPF hereby passes a vote of confidence on His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel”.

Setting the ball rolling in line with the complete agenda of governor Udom, the Forum made open and stated their mantra as “SUSTAIN THE PEACE, SUPPORT THE COMPLETION AGENDA.”

However, the forum said, having enjoyed the peace in the state and satisfied with the security of lives and property under the leadership of Governor Udom, “Just as we declare support for His Excellency’s completion agenda, we hereby declare our unalloyed support for MPM and its leadership led by Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem”.

Responding to questions from journalists, Mr. Isong maintained that the forum has not identified with any of the 2023 governorship aspirants yet and that, they can only support anybody after they must have examined him to know his antecedents and must ensure the person does not have any affiliation with anything cultism or occult. They also decided to support MPM because according to them, they don’t want the peace enjoyed in this administration to diminish after 2023.

Meanwhile, USDMPF called on all political office holders at the national and state levels, leaders of thought, captains of industry, and indeed the entire Akwa Ibom people, to ensure that they think Akwa Ibom first, and explore ways of channeling their powers into attracting development into the state.
